An intensive in-depth course on diverse interpretations of key texts on the position of women in the Qur’an, hadith and fiqh. The course is based on a multidisciplinary method. In this way, we not only focus on source-texts, but also research agency and female Islamic leadership throughout the history of Islam; from classical female scholars, all the way to the contemporary discussion and internal Islamic dialogue about pro’s and con’s on Islamic feminism and ‘Western’ Feminism. Everyone interested in this topic is welcomed to join us in this live online course to make this journey throughout history. 6 interactive sessions (with breakout rooms) of 2 hours.
